June 3,2008 Highway 12

We left Kamiah today and headed towards Missoula. We followed the clearwater river for a while and then it became the Lochsa. This has to be one of the most scenic roads in America. The river had kayaks going down the river and the river was moving fast.

Along the way we stopped at the Lochsa Historical Ranger Station. It was built in the 1920'2 and is still aworking station. They have many buildings still intact.
We finally came to the Wilderness Campground,a forest service campground on the river. This campground has water and is only $4.00 with the Golden age pass. It a beautiful campground with a big pavillon for big groups.
