June 19 2014 What's happening

We've been here in Chimacum for a month and haven't done anything exciting. Sam is usually out working most days fixing something. I play Majong 2 days a week so I get out. Because there hasn't been much in the way of activities I've started up a few things. I've started a weekly Happy Hour social and am getting quite a few for that and I'm also starting up a wine tasting party once a month. Saturday will be our first one and we hope to get quite a few for that. There is a potluck social every other week. Our kitchen has been closed down for the time being so no more dinners etc.and we are no longer having bingo because of some legalaties. Hopefully they will get all this fixed so we can continue bingo and start having dinners etc.The weather here has been cool since being here so haven't been able to entertain outside .I think it should be warming up soon. On a good note we love the area here and have friends that make it fun. There will be lots of things happening in the area in the next 2 months and we'll be busy going to these events. I'm posting some photos of  our lot, a  beautiful rainbow after a rain ,and of friends Frank and Rosemary.

May 2014 Back in Chimacum

Hello from Chimacum,

We left Sacramento around the 7th of May and headed up to Burney to visit a friend and stayed around 5 days and had a nice visit before heading to Ore.  We passed beautiful Mt Shasta covered in snow and proceeded to Grants Pass, Or. Sam wanted to get shocks, steering stabilizers and other things done to the Motorhome. They checked the brakes as well and had 1 cracked rotor. Things are adding up, by the time all was finished it was 8,000 dollars.Whew----I guess we will be keeping this RV for awhile. We have a 2003 Holiday Rambler. While in Grant's Pass we went to lunch with fellow Boomers Jerry and Carol Miller. Sorry no pictures taken.

Our next stop was in Canby, Or. to see our niece and her roommate. We went out to dinner at the Golf Course and had a very enjoyable time getting caught up. Finally we arrived on our lot in Chimacum and it hasn't been real busy here yet. We have been sitting in the RV watching across the street as they finish up the 3rd new sewer system. They finally finished Friday. I'm trying to get some activities started up and hope people will start coming out. First off I've started a happy hour social that starts this Thursday, then Bunco 1 Thursday a month. I am also starting a wine tasting group 1 Saturday a month. I would like to have a casino night as well. I'm trying to get this park to do more socializing and get to know all our new lease holders this past year. We have about 40 new members. I guess that's all I have for now. Hope to start doing more blogs.
