July 31,2010 Happy Anniversary

Today is our 45th wedding anniversary and we are going to spend it in Acadia and Bar Harbor.We stopped off at the visitors center and got all those brocheurs to see what we would be seeing and doing.Our first stop was Cadillac Mt. At the top of the mountain you are at 1530 feet,it is the highest peak and mountain on the Atlantic coast north of Brazil. Views from the top are spread out over the bays ,the park and beyond. It is one of the only places to see the first sunrise in the U.S. Too early for me.

This is Thunder Hole and when it is high tide the water comes splashing up 40ft and makes a thunderous roar. It was low tide when we were there but a beautiful spot with the rocks and coastline.

We continued on to Jordon Pond for their famous popovers. They are sooooo good. They are opened up and ice cream inside with chocolate drizzed all over them. Don't they sound wonderful.Don't drool.

You can sit out on the lawn and enjoy the beauty of Jordon Pond.
We continued on to Bar Harbor and walked around town and down to the water. We had a great day and will remember our day at Acadia.
