Jan.31, 2008 Winterhaven Pilot Knob

Today we left for Yuma and will be staying at Pilot Knob. We have a free 4 night stay with a coupon but we have to listen to their presentations. Sam is getting new teeth in Algodones so we made a trip into Mexico to see dentist. New upper and lowers will be 700 dollars alot cheaper here than in the U.S.
There are always lots of people in Algodones getting glasses, having dental work done and getting medicine. It's so much cheaper than in the states. Everyone now needs a passport and the lines can be quite long a times. We just drive our car in and park at a lot for 2 dollars. It's much faster coming back than standing in line to go through customs. Everyone in the line carrying their purple bags have liquor and meds. It's fun going there for shrimp tacos and margaritas. If you ever get to Yuma make sure you go to Algodones.

JAN.29,2008 Laundry & clean up

Well it's getting near that time to move on. I went to do my favorite thing today, laundry. ugh! Sam has done it again, he lost his glasses and his money purse. I'm sure he just misplaced it as he does this a lot. Ike and Vicki and Chuck and Pat will be leaving tomorrow for Palm Springs then onto Yuma and Casa Grande. I'm sure we cross paths sometime next month. Since this going to be the last night together I guess we will have our last campfire. The weater here this winter hasn't been that great so we didn't have that many campfires. Well onto new adventures.

JAN.25,2008 Shopping

Today Vicki and I decided to go do some shopping at the big tent. I decided that we need to get Passport America for our travels this summer. We will be heading to N.& S Dakota and Wyoming so we can probably use this for overnight campgrounds. I was also eyeing a leather jacket I
wanted so did a splurge. Later Sam & I met George & Janice at Beaudry's for the free lunch. They do this lunch for 4 days and have different food everyday. Some of the food they had was chicken, burgers, brats, beans, chips and large chocolate chip cookies. It's not very often you get a free lunch. Just stay away from the rv sales you don't want to pay for that free lunch.

Birthday Boys Jan.24,2008

Today is Sam and Al's birthday and we're going to have a party. We went out palmosa rd. where the party was going to be held at Jan and Roy's. We've met people over the years from Minnesota,Oregon California ,Texas,Arizona and various other places and always meet up in Quartzsite. I guess that's why we keep coming back every year because of the friends we met and all the fun we have. Here are a few pictures of the party.

The guys were Johnny on the spot when the food came out, wouldn't you know. We had lots of good food and everyone was ready to eat.We even had some music played by Julian. He's from Switzerland and played the accordian for us.
We had a birthday cake for Sam and Al and it was a carrot cake I had made. Everyone enjoyed the cake and it just topped off our meal. We all had a great day and it was enjoyed by all.

Lunch time Jan.23,2008

Well it's lunch time again at Beaudry's RV here in Quartzsite. Every year in Jan. they have a 3 or 4 day event where they serve free lunch and have music. They have a big tent that they use and you can imagine how many people show up for the food. Of course they have it to get people over there to see all the rv's and hopefully sell them. We went a couple days with our friends George and Janice and had a great time. We also ran into other people we knew and got to visit. This is the place to meet people.

Brunch potluck and friends Jan.20,2008

Today we decided to have a potluck breakfast with a couple of our friends here at the park.I made breakfast Enchiladas and we had Mimosa's. Cheer's! Later that day friends that are out at plamosa rd. came over for happy hour. One nice thing about Quartzsite is that we get to see lots of friends we've met on the road here in the winter.
