March 3 2013 ATV,Fairbank Townsite and more

Thursday we went with others on a ATV ride and we had a great time.Who would of thought that we’d being riding ATV’s and being adventurous and living life in our 70’s.I’m so glad we are livin’ ez on the road and still having fun.There are those who live the adventure and those that don’t.Don’t be the person that says I wish I had done that.Just get up and do it. I have some photos of our ride and will post a few.





A great day was had by all.
On Saturday we went to the town of Fairbank.Fairbank is on the San Pedro River and it came into existence in 1881 with the construction of the New Mexico and Arizona railroad.They were having a event that day and it was fun.They have a walking trail to many sites that use to be Fairbank.There was a ranger that gave us a little history and a walk to the old cemetery.There are some buildings still there from the old mercantile,schoolhouse,and some other buildings.They had the artillery,calvary and some people showing their crafts.Here’s some photos.









After spending the morning in Fairbank we headed back to Tombstone and went to Schieffelin’s monument.Ed Schieffelin was a prospector and found silver around the area which is now Tombstone.He named is mine Tombstone and this led to the town of Tombstone.When he died the town erected this monument to him.

On the way back home to Benson we stopped in St.David at Holy Trinity Monestary. This is a Benedictine Monastery.We have passed this place many times and see this cross so this time we stopped.The visitor center was closed so we just walked around.It was a full day and we headed home.Just livin’ ez

Feb.20,2012 Winter wonderland

Yesterday it started snowing around 11 in the morning and didn't stop till 11 that evening.We woke up in the morning to a winter wonderland.Lots of snow and very cold.We are about 3500 ft here in Benson so it can snow and this year it did just that.I prefer the warmer weather but this is is ok for a couple of days,now let's get back to the 70's.

Last night was our annual ladies night out in the clubhouse.This year's theme was Romance through the ages.As always the men prepare the meal and serve it. There is always entertainment and it is always funny.Here's some of the photos from the evening starting with the cave man era to modern day.

 

We also entertained by the Russian Bulgar Band.

Feb.9,2013 Snow

Today is my birthday and I woke up to snow.Yesterday it was 70 and sunny,today snowing and cold.Crazy weather.The snow wasn’t stopping us today because we were going to the yearly Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering in Sierra Vista.This is the 3rd year we’ve gone and we really enjoyed it.

Feb 8,2013 Tubac

Today was a nice day so we got up and went to Tubac,Az for their annual Arts Festival.I try and go every year as they have so many nice things for sale.The town has lots of stores that are artsy and I love looking at all their wares.It’s a fun time and also a old historical town.Some photos from today.

There is a area where there are lots of sculptures and every year they have new ones.

Feb.3,2013 Dentist,Eyeglasses

Before we left Quartzsite we had to make a trip to Algondones so I could get my teeth cleaned and have my glasses fixed.My glasses dropped and and the lens broke so finally got them fixed.I can see! We left Quartzsite on the the 31st and headed to Benson.We decided to stop overnight at the Moose Lodge in Arizona City.

We got back on our lot in Benson on Friday afternoon.It was to be back.Saturday night they had some entertainment.They had Shyrock Magic back by popular demand.Again a great show.

TheyThey had a superbowl party in the clubhouse and the game was a disapointment.The 9ers lost.Busy week coming up here in Benson.Livin'ez on the road hope you do the same.

Jan. 28,2013 Birthday

This last week we've been busy.The tent and Tyson's was open and we did some shopping.Sam was able to find 3 vent covers to replace the old ones and I found a couple of shirts.We had a birthday party on Thursday for Sam and 2 others we know were also having a birthday so we made it a 3 in one party. Everyone brought food and I made a Carrot Cake.One of everyone's favorite.I also made Polar Bears and were they ever yummy.Vodka,Kahlua,vanilla ice cream,and crushed ice.These go down real smooth and everyone loves them.A good time was had by all.

Jan.17 2013 Quartzsite Happy Hour

All the people have converged in Quartzsite and it’s starting to getting busy.Yesterday and today the Escapees had their Annual Happy Hour.We got to see a lot of people we haven’t seen since last year.It was so nice to listen to music and renew friendships.Friday Tyson’s open and the Big Tent opens on Saturday.Oh it’s going to get crazy here.Our refrigerator went out and we went to Blythe to get a small refrig  to use until we can get ours fixed or get a new one.We’re sick of this Norcold.Time to start looking for a different RV.Photos of Happy Hour.
