Jan.Quartzsite

We arrived in Quartzsite on the 2nd of Jan. and stayed for a month.Back in our same spot there were 3 other of our friends already there.We had other friends arriving from other places and would be seeing them somewhere in the desert.One night we got together with friends Jerry and Carol and went to see the Travelers (a music group)who played fantastic music.Jay Bonham sang a lot of his songs he had written for famous people and whom he use to tour with back in the days.He was Jay of Jay and the Americans and do you remember Dream Lover.Here’s Jerry and Carol and Jay Bonham and the Travelers.

 We had many happy hours during the month we were in Quartzsite.We attended the Escapees happy hour and saw a lot of friends there.

We also had a birthday party for Sam on the 24th and what a turnout.Other friends Al and Duane had a birthday as well.We also had friends from Mesa come up.There were about 12 people who were there that we didn’t even know.I made  Carrot Cake and made Polar Bears for drinks. That was a big hit.

We went out to Boomerville a couple times and went one time for a wine tasting party.What fun and so good see old friends and meet new ones.

We enjoyed our month in Quartzsite seeing old friends,meeting new ones,shopping,happy hours and potlucks. Now it’s time to move on and head to Benson for a month or two.Hope to see you down the road.We’re Livin’ Ez on the road hope you do the same.

Dec.31st 2010 Lake Mittry

We left Benson on the 29th and headed to Lake Mittry to spend New Years with the Boomers.We got there and there were about 10 rigs. We had about 20 rvs for New Years Eve. What a great time we had.They had a z circle with 5 rvs hosting. All the rest of the couples would rotate the  to other rvs after 45 minutes. Dec.18,2010 Ft.Bowie

We're in Benson at skp park and arrived here on Nov.30.We will stay until the end of Dec. then move to Mittry Lake for Boomers New Years.Both of us have been down with colds and haven't done much of anything. We are finally feeling somewhat better and decided to go to Ft.Bowie today.Ft Bowie tells the story of the conflict between the govt. and the Apaches.For 30 years Ft. Bowie and Apache Pass was the point for military operations and the surrendering of Geronimo in 1886. After they sent all Chiracahuas to Ala. and Florida.Once you get to Ft. Bowie it's a 1 1/2 mile hike in to the fort.

On the way you will see lots of rock formations.

By the time we got back to the car I was wore out.We headed into Wilcox and went to a BBQ and had ribs for dinnner.After that we went over Stout's cider mill and got the biggest apple pie we have ever seen.Um,Um. On the way home we were treated to the most beautiful sunset I think we've ever seen. This has been a great day and we have more to come.

Nov.19,2010 Nassau

We're coming to the end of our cruise and Nassau is our last port. Their is another ship in the harbor next to us from NCL.

Nassau is a busy port and we walked into town and went to the straw market.Sam wasn't feeling good so he went back to the ship and George and Janice and I went over to Paradise Island.

We took a cab over to Paradise Island where the harbor is filled with huge yachts and a casino.It's very pretty over here and also has a shopping area.We walked around and went into the casino then took the boat back to the ship.

Our cruise is at the end and we will be arriving in Galveston on the 21st. See ya down the road. Sam and Carolyn

Nov.11,2010 Canary Island

 La Palma is known as the green or beautiful island.It's covered in trees and vegetation and includes volcanoes,lava flows and the world's largest crater. Bananas are their main crop.There are bananas everywhere.Santa Cruz is the capital is the La Palma.It is a city with brightly colored homes and ornate balconies.

LaGalga is a tiny town on the edge of 2 deep gorges with views.Some of the flowers on the island.

Time to leave and cruise for awhile.

Nov.10,2010 Madeira

We arrived in Madeira,Portugal today and was sheduled for a bus tour of the island.Funchal is the capital of Madeira which is located 350 miles fromN. Africa. The island is lush with greenery and mountains.They are also known for their Madeira wine.As you come to the island you can see all the beautiful red top houses on the hillsides.

Cabo Girao is the second highest sea cliff in the world at 1804 ft.and offers stunning panoramic views.

We had a great time on this Island and could spend more time here. Now it's time to move on.
