April 9-14 Stagecoach Days

After leaving Tucson we proceeded to Park Sierra in Coarsegold where we stayed for a week for Stagecoach Days. They had a lot planned for the week with 3 dinners,3 breakfasts and lots of activities. There was a parade, casino night, dutch oven cooking, wine tasting party and lots more. We participated in most everything and had a great time. I took a hayride and wildflower talk and learned a lot about all the various flowers. We also had a great time at casino night. At the end of the evening everyone counted up their chips and prizes were given away. I didn't have much left so didn't win anything but had fun. We also attended the Dutch oven cooking demonstration and had lots to eat afterwards. Laurie used 9 different Dutch ovens and prepared Lasagna, bread,  Chicken casserole, corn bread, 3 different deserts, and I don't remember what the other 2 recipes were. It was delicious. We also attended the wine tasting party and had a variety of wines to choose from. A good time was had by all. It was a busy 5 days and we needed a break after all was done.

April 1-6 Chapter21 Rally

We left Benson on the 1st and went to the Tucson KOA for 5 nights where we'll be attending Chapter 21 Rally. The first day we had a meet and greet happy hour and registration. There was several tours they had planned and did a great job putting it together. Our rally hosts were Jean Burkhart and Marti Moehleu. On Wednesday they went to the Biosphere, but we had already been there so didn't attend. Another day we went to Sabino Canyon. We all packed our lunches and had a picnic after our tram ride. Sabino Canyon is in the Coronado Ntl. Forest.  They have a narrated tram ride to the top and have 9 stops. You can get on and off as you like. There are hiking trails, picnicking, and stunning canyon views. Here are some of the views of the canyon.

March 31 2014 I'M Back!

It's been 3 months since I've posted, so it's time for catch up. We spent the month of Jan.in Quartzsite not doing much of anything. The first 2 weeks I had a cold and the last 2 weeks Sam didn't feel good. We were able to go the Escapees Happy Hour, visit Tyson's, the big tent and eat out a few times. Sam's birthday is Jan. so I did give him a small party. Didn't go all out this year. But I did serve Margaritas. Here's a couple of photos of the get together.
