Oct.13,2010 Day 3 Trace

Today was a busy day on the trace. Our 1st stop was Colberts Stand. Here is where Colbert had a Inn and a ferry service across the river. He once charged Andrew Jackson 75,000 dollars to ferry his troops across the river. That’s a lot in those days.2010-10 trace,Ala.music Hall of Fame and Elvis Birthplace 071 2010-10 trace,Ala.music Hall of Fame and Elvis Birthplace 072

As we traveled down the trace we came across some confederates gravesites that were unknown soldiers.2010-10 trace,Ala.music Hall of Fame and Elvis Birthplace 099 2010-10 trace,Ala.music Hall of Fame and Elvis Birthplace 101

We came to the Pharr Mounds and this is where the Indians buried their dead. These mounds are very old.2010-10 trace,Ala.music Hall of Fame and Elvis Birthplace 088 2010-10 trace,Ala.music Hall of Fame and Elvis Birthplace 092

The next was a must see for me as I was a big fan of Elvis. We stopped in Tupelo at Elvis’s birthplace. His home was a 2 room house that had a bedroom and a kitchen.
